Colorado Springs: Spouse’s Business Mistakes Leaving You Stressed? Get Help Fixing the Mess Now

Navigating the complexities of business licensing can be a daunting task, especially when faced with the stress and challenges of unlicensed operations. It’s not uncommon for a spouse to inadvertently operate a business without the necessary licenses or permits, leading to unfortunate penalties and understated income. The feelings of embarrassment, worry, and overwhelm can be overwhelming as these issues come to light, often catching families by surprise.

When faced with such stressful circumstances, it's crucial to seek the expertise of an Enrolled Agent. An Enrolled Agent, licensed by the IRS, specializes in resolving tax issues and can advocate on behalf of clients, alleviating the stress of handling these matters alone. They are skilled at negotiating with the IRS, ensuring your path to resolution is smooth and less intimidating.

The journey to rectify such oversights can be nerve-wracking. However, the relief of knowing there is a plan in place to address and mitigate these issues brings newfound optimism and confidence. An Enrolled Agent will work diligently to eliminate the feelings of exposure and vulnerability, enabling you to halt the cycle of penalties and potential legal action.

Enrolled Agents bring a compassionate understanding to these situations, removing the isolation and victimization clients often feel when dealing directly with the IRS. By addressing these licensing issues head-on, coupled with the expertise of an Enrolled Agent, you can transition from feeling overwhelmed to gaining control over your financial and regulatory landscape.

With the right guidance, the path forward can focus on compliance, minimizing penalties, and laying a foundation of confidence for the future operations of your business. Let this be the beginning of a brighter, more managed financial future.

Colorado Springs: What Does it Mean to be in Tax Compliance?

Sometimes people call the office stating that they are several years maybe even 20 or more years behind on filing taxes.  They are a panic because they think they have to file all 20 years to be compliant.  Or, they received a tax bill notice for a year that IRS has filed a substitute return.  We listen carefully to their story to figure out how we can help.

After understanding the client's situation we pull the client IRS transcripts to get a clear picture of their situation.  Most of the time getting the client in tax compliance is the place we start.  But, what is tax compliance?  According to the Internal Revenue Manual 1.2.14.1.18, federal tax compliance is the filing the last 6 years of tax returns. Also, included in tax compliance is making estimated tax payments, having proper withholding, and making payroll tax deposits?

Marcelino Dodge of Cash Tracks Financial works to not only get you tax compliant, but also will analyze your situation to determine the best strategy to use to lay your tax issues rest for good.

Colorado Springs: How Can I Qualify for an Offer in Compromise?

You have heard the ads saying that your tax debt can be reduced from $100,000+ down to only a few dollars.  How accurate are these claims?  Do these companies do a thorough analysis?  Without a complete and thorough analysis, how can it be known whether or not you even qualify?  I highly recommend avoiding any company that fails to do a proper analysis to determine your reasonable collection potential (RCP).

Are you in filing compliance?  Are you making estimated payments or have enough withholding to cover your taxes for the year?  Each of these questions must have a "Yes" answer before an Offer in Compromise can even be submitted.

Marcelino Dodge, Enrolled Agent can help you with a complete analysis of your situation.  I can help to determine how best to approach your specific situation and determine the best possible solution.

Colorado Springs: How Can I Deal With Liens and Levies?

PANIC!! You have received notice of a federal tax lien or your bank account has been levied by the Internal Revenue Service.  Under Internal Revenue Code Section 6321 allows the IRS to file a notice for federal tax lien to protect the government's interest. How long does the Lien continue?  The lien will continue until: 1) It Expires; 2) It is Paid; or 3) It is Compromised.

What are the options are available for you?  Do you any unfiled tax returns?  Do you have unpaid taxes for prior years?

Work with a tax professional to represent you before the IRS help you to resolve the lien with the following options:
Option 1: Get into Compliance (required)
Option 2: Have an analysis to determine the payment options for which you qualify
Option 3: Possibly have the IRS subordinate to another lender
Option 4: Setup an installment agreement

Marcelino Dodge, Enrolled Agent, with Cash Tracks Financial helps taxpayers with unfiled tax return and tax liens.
